WHO WE ARE

Luyando for Zambia is a Swiss-founded non-profit organization with a strong focus on female empowerment and hygiene.

We support children and their families, especially girls and young mothers in local communities and aim to build a long-lasting foundation for a better, healthier and safer life for them.

Luyando is the Tonga word for Love and the Tonga tribe is the largest tribe in Zambia.

CREATING SAFER FUTURES

Through supporting young girls and mothers, we help to build confidence, self-esteem and the freedom for

children to simply be who they are.

OUR PROJECTS

AFTERNOON STUDY GROUPS

We support afternoon classes which are linked to the school time table. They are held in cooperation with "Solid Rock for all Nations" Organization. Part of these classes are 39 girls and 13 boys.

HYGIENE CONCEPT

Our goal is to ensure continuous access to hygiene products for children by linking hygiene support with sports and educational activities.

By attending their afternoon programs regularly, children receive hygiene products at the beginning of each month.

This creates a win-win approach that empowers and supports them in more ways than one.

YOUNG MOTHERS

Part of our 67 girls are 9 young mothers between 15-20 years old, which are supported with products for their babies.

They get washing powder, baby wipes, baby vaseline and baby soap on a monthly basis, in addition to their period pads and soap.

GIRLS FOOTBALL TEAM

Our girls football team "rising queens" consists of 28 girls that are training every day after school together with their coach Arnold.

They frequently attend tournaments, held in the local female football league.

FAMILY SUPPORT

We support families that struggle to feed their children. These families get support in rent and a food package on a monthly basis.

It consists of cooking oil, mealie meal (a base for every dish), soy pieces and seasonal vegetables. We want to ensure, that children don't have to work to support their families and go to school instead.

DONATION DISTRIBUTIONS

We regularly distribute essential items such as clothing, shoes, toys, school materials and other goods that we receive through our network of supporters.

All donations are handed directly to the children involved in our programmes, as well as their families within the local communities.

By ensuring that donations reach them directly, we are able to provide support that makes a huge and

lasting difference in their everyday lives.
